Structure of Cr2O3/Fe2O3 before and during water-gas shift reaction are determined. We also concluded that the Cr only act as structural stabilizer instead of active site. With isotope switch experiment we confirmed the WGS reaction follows a redox mechanism only involving surface oxygen species.
