P-Mo-B-220 One-Pot Synthesis of 1,3-Propanediol and γ-Valerolactone Via Hydrogenolysis/Hydrogenation of Glycerol and Levulinic Acid

We proposed a new strategy for the one-pot synthesis of 1, 3-propanediol (1,3-PDO) and γ-valerolactone (GVL) by introducing levulinic acid (LA) to glycerol hydrogenolysis, in which glycerol was selectively hydrogenolysis toward 1, 3-PDO with the synergistic effects of LA and metal catalysts, and the LA was simultaneously hydrogenated to GVL.
