Homogeneous catalysts are typically associated with efficient chemical transformations at low temperatures, while heterogeneous systems are typically preferred in terms of processes (easier regeneration and separation processes). We will show it is possible to combine the advantages of both world through the controlled functionalization of the surfaces of oxide materials.
