This study is aimed at developing a suitable oxygen carrier (OC) using Ni over γ-Al2O3 for Chemical Looping Combustion. This study demonstrates the methods and proposed a mechanistic pathway in controlling surface concentration of tetrahedral Al3+ ions, which eventually ensure the maximum utilization of loaded Ni metals.
