Cobalt or nickel-promoted molybdenum sulfide catalysts supported on alumina are widely used in hydrotreatment processes due to their high activity and stability. In this study, MRI technique was successfully applied to characterize impregnation phenomenon and allows to highlight the role of the interactions between the metallic phase and the surface.
