O-W-A-16 Beyond Ketonization: Selective Conversion of Carboxylic Acids to Olefins over Balanced Lewis Acid-Base Pairs

we report a highly selective and stable catalyst with balanced Lewis acid-base
pairs, on which mixed carboxylic acids (i.e., acetic acid and propanoic acid) can be selectively
converted into a range of C4-C6 olefins via a sequential ketonization and aldolcondensation
reaction pathway.
