A novel process concept was developed for light-enhanced oxidative adsorption desulfurization of diesel fuel with mixed oxides adsorbent, TiO2-ZrO2. The physicochemical properties of the mixed oxides material were studied to understand the adsorption of dibenzothiophene sulfone, which is important for adsorbent design for adsorptive desulfurization of liquid fuels.
