The selective acetylene hydrogenation is an important process used for removing traces amount of acetylene in the ethylene feedstock. During the hydrogenation the catalyst loses activity due to hydrocarbon deposition (green oil). This work illustrates the effects in catalytic activity when the regeneration procedure is not performed correctly.
