The mechanism of trichloroethylene and 1,2-dichloroethane adsorption over bare and Pd doped metallic iron, and iron oxydes/oxyhydroxides surfaces is studied. Adsorption occurs through surface hydroxyl groups, by the formation of a carbon –oxygen bonds. The adsorption capacity and desorption mechanism was affected by the presence of Pd.
