P-Tu-B-79 Coal Gasification: Studies on Potassium Mobility

Potassium carbonate is the most commonly used catalyst for gasification of coal. Different gasification rates of coal mixed with the potassium catalyst are observed after different heating/holding atmospheres. Studies on potassium migration reveal strong influence of holding atmosphere on the catalyst mobility.
