Deniz Altunoz Erdogan, Pelin Altay and Emrah Ozensoy, Bilkent University, Turkey.

The synthesis, structural characterization and performance analysis of different families of Photocatalytic NO_x Oxidation and Storage (PHONOS) catalysts were prepared. They can be either activated by UV or VIS illumination and can reveal unprecedented surface morphologies/pore geometries/crystal structures/surface compositions thanks to the novel synthetic protocols involving bio-templating of natural biomaterials.
