This presentation identifies the key exhaust gas conditions required for ideal catalyst performance of heavy duty aftertreatment systems. Catalyst performance is a function of high NOx/soot ratios and high [O2] for passive soot oxidation. Improved low temperature NOx conversion can be achieved by injecting gaseous NH3 instead of aqueous urea.
