The role of Pt-Ba interaction on the NO_x storage and reduction processes over alumina supported PtBa catalysts is investigated. The Pt-Ba proximity impacts the storage of NO_x and is crucial for the reduction of stored NO_x which occurs through a NO_x reverse spillover process.
