Surface-Level Studies of Selectivity Control in Reactions of Oxygenates

Surface science techniques have been employed to determine how reaction selectivity is controlled by the adsorbed orientation of oxygenated compounds.  To control selectivity, catalysts that favor a particular adsorbed orientation have been designed and implemented under conditions of high-pressure catalysis.
