Mixed oxides or hydrotalcite like materials of the same family exhibit many profitable features in several areas of applications, such as catalyst precursors or supports. These materials are simple and low-cost to prepare, because a mixture of di- and trivalent cations. They can  be prepared by a sol-gel transition.
