To achieve a deeper understanding of the particle formation in the precipitation of the precursor and the aging process, of a binary Cu/ZnO-system this contribution applies simulations and experiments. A multi-component and multi-phase population balance model is applied to the formation of copper catalyst precursors in a T-mixer device.
