P-Tu-B-128 Attapulgite As Oxygen Carrier for Chemical Looping Combustion

Four different types of Greek mineral attapulgite (Fe3+ range: 6.5-11% wt) have been evaluated as oxygen carriers for Chemical Looping Combustion (CLC). The materials presented different performance concerning their Oxygen Transfer Capacity, OTC (0.5-2.7 % wt), their reactivity towards CH4 (55-100%) and their stability (50% up to 87% of the initial OTC).
