P-Tu-B-213 One Step Hydrodeoxygenation of Fermentative 2,3-Butanediol to Butene over Bifunctional Catalysts

High loading Cu/ZSM-5 catalysts were used to catalyze the conversion of 2,3-butanediol to butene in one step in the presence of hydrogen. The carbon selectivity of butene increased with increasing SiO2/Al2O3 ratio of zeolite and H2/2,3-butanediol ratio. The optimal reaction temperature is around 250 oC.
