The transition metal catalyst is successfully used to obtain value-added small chemicals, including C6-C8 aliphatic alcohols, C8-C10 esters and aromatics, from the conversion of lignin in supercritical ethanol. The total yield of the obtained products is up to 1000 mg/g lignin.
