The evolution of colloidal zeolite Y supported silver nanoparticles was developed via combination of several spectroscopic techniques . The strength of the reducing agent and the intrazeolitic pH were found to be critical in isolating zeolites decorated with ~ 1.4-2.4 nm silver particles. These materials were investigated as heterogeneous catalysts.
