Our study provides for a quantitative relationship between the Lewis acidity, adsorption, and chemical reactivity.  The new descriptor allows for a direct comparison of the Lewis acidity among different facets on a variety of oxide surfaces and can be used for in silico prediction of Lewis acid catalysts.
