The experimental and theoretical methodology was adapted for the rapid screening and feasibility of the 1,3-phenylenediamine for SO2 removal. The present work aims at understanding amine-based SO2 sorbent regeneration and deactivation mechanism. Understanding the deactivation mechanism will help in developing a path forward for amine based SO2 post-combustion removal technology.
