Conversion of Lignin to Functionalized Aromatic Monomers over Pt/Alumina

We have established that efficient lignin conversion to specific fine chemicals is dependent upon the lignin source and pretreatment, with a view to optimising the β-O-4 content.  The selectivity is affected by the solvent mix, temperature and pressure and shows an inverse kiinetic isotope effect when deuterium is used.
