O-Tu-407-6 Oxidative Coupling of Methane on Flame-Made Mn-Na2WO4/SiO2: Influence of Catalyst Composition and Reaction Conditions

Oxidative coupling of methane was investigated over flame-made Mn-Na2WO4/SiO2 of various compositions. Intimate contact between all components was essential for obtaining high performance. The composition 1.9%Mn-3%Na2WO4/SiO2 was optimal. Phase transformation of SiO2 as well as loss of surface area induced under reaction conditions had no significant effect on catalyst performance.
