A series of high selectivity Cs-Re-Mo-Ag/α-Al2O3 catalysts are prepared for ethylene epoxidation. Optimal amounts of Re and Mo on Cs-promoted, Ag/α-Al2O3 increase EO selectivity by more than 9% to >83%.  Analyses by XPS and SEM suggest the origin of both Re and Cs promotions are electronic in nature.
