Highly Active and Selective Pt-Promoted Co/Nb2O5 Catalysts for Fischer Tropsch Synthesis

In Fischer Tropsch catalysis, Nb₂O₅-supported catalysts were found to yield higher selectivities towards liquid products than γ-Al₂O₃-supported catalysts and could be operated at higher temperatures and correspondingly higher activities. For Pt-promoted Co/Nb₂O₅ catalysts the turn-over frequency was enhanced by a factor 2.5 compared to Pt-Co/γ-Al₂O₃ catalysts.
