A systematic study investigating the influence of ammonia on formic acid decomposition over Au/TiO2 under SCR-relevant conditions is presented. Ammonia-induced enhancement in formic acid decomposition rate and CO2 production was contingent on the presence of gold. These findings are important for the application of formate-based ammonia precursors for SCR.
