For Li-air batteries the oxygen-reduction (ORR) and evolution reaction (OER) greatly depend on advanced catalysts with oxygen-tuning capabilities.  This study shows how the oxygen-mediated tuning in ultra-fine CeO2 catalysts anchored on a nanostructured carbon cathode greatly improved the discharge performance of a Li-air system for a range of current densities.
