Glycerol Conversion over Acid Functionalized Activated Carbon

Gas phase glycerol conversion over microporous and mesoporous, acid functionalized carbons was studied. Acid surface properties were tailored by using remote and in-situ non-isothermal plasma. Morphological and chemical characterizations were conducted by several techniques. A correlation was found between selectivity and specific acid surface sites for microporous carbons.
