Aluminas are widely used as catalyst’s support and/or catalyst. In the present study, alumina acidity was controlled using H2SO4, H3PO4 and 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxylane acids in order to obtain catalysts that enhance the selectivity towards 5-hydroxymethylfurfural in fructose dehydration reaction.
