Nanocage with hydrophobic carbosilane shell and a cavity containing metal active center and an array of functionalities capable of hydrogen-bonding interaction was constructed with the aid of a modified polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanetemplate (POSS) template.   This cage structure is ideal for studying confinement effect on catalytic reactions.
