O-Tu-Fre-12 Ethanol as a Platform Molecule: The Generation of Acetone from Ethanol

Ethanol is a platform molecule which can generate chemicals employing one-pot processes and multifunctional catalysts. The synthesis of acetone is a good example of these processes. The Ce0.75Zr0.25O2 mixed oxide is a promising component of catalysts for the generation of acetone from ethanol.
