P-W-BRC-69 Pt-Re Synergy in Water-gas Shift and Aqueous Phase Reforming of Glycerol: A Combined Experimental and Theoretical Study

Alloying of Pt with Re considerably affects catalytic performance in glycerol APR: (i) higher WGS rate due to presence of Re-OH, resulting in lower CO surface coverage and higher reforming activity; (ii) due to the acidity of Re-OH species, which facilitates dehydration reactions, increasing the ratio of C-O/C-C cleavage reactions.
