MgO-based metal oxide catalysts showed reasonable catalytic activity for deoxygenation of soy-bean oil. However, deactivation of catalyst occurred in the continuous production of hydrocarbon with fixed bed reactor system. Proper treatment of solvent regenerated metal oxide catalyst and enabled continuous production of hydrocarbon by deoxygenation of triglycerides from biomass.
