Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy has been used to investigate the formation of surface species on H-SSZ-13 catalyst upon exposure to a gas mixture of NO and O2.  The observed IR spectra confirmed the formation of nitrosonium ion (NO+) at Brønsted acid sites within the zeolite micropores.
