P-M-Wil-12 Decarboxylation of Glycerol Carbonate to Glycidol Using Zinc Oxide Catalysts

Glycidol was successfully synthesized through decarboxylation of glycerol carbonate by a zinc oxide catalyst with high conversion efficiency and selectivity. Also, the selection of suitable solvent could suppress occurrence of undesirable side reactions such as other reaction between the chemically instable glycidol and glycerol carbonate as raw materials.
