The Ship in Bottle Synthesis in Plugged MCF to Bridge Metal Complexes and Material Sciences for Heterogeneous Catalysts

We report the ship in bottle synthesis of Co(III)-salen complex in newly synthesized plugged mesocellular foam (MCF) with cavity sizes of 20 nm and window sizes of less than 4 nm. The obtained chiral Co(III)-sale/plugged MCF showed excellent performance in the hydrolytic kinetic resolution of terminal epoxides.
