P-Tu-BRC-78 Efficient Production of Acrylic Acid by Sequential Dehydration and Oxidation of Glycerol in a Fixed-bed Reactor

New catalysts with good stability were developed for direct conversion of glycerol, a byproduct of the biodiesel process, to acrylic acid. A high yield (75%) of acrylic acid was obtained by sequential dehydration and oxidation of glycerol in a fixed-bed reactor.
