CO2 adsorption on imogolite and imogolite-like NTs is studied: CO2 may interact with inner SiOHs of imogolite, by forming reversible adducts (ΔH = -20 kJ mol-1 ) and also interact with the outer surface of nanotubes (bicarbonates/carbonates). In modified imogolite, a third kind of adducts form, with carbon dioxide molecules entering intra-tubes pores.
