In this study we have examined the steam reforming of ethane and ethanol at identical steam:carbon ratios over Rh/alumina at the same temperatures and space velocity.  This comparison between biomass and hydrocarbon feedstocks reveals significant differences in product selectivity and catalyst deactivation.
