Dispersion of CaO on γ-Al2O3 creates a CO2-sorbent that overcomes problems associated with bulk CaO, such as slow uptake kinetics and energy-intensive regeneration. This sorbent can be regenerated under nitrogen at 300 to 650°C, making it a promising candidate for sorption-enhanced hydrogen production via steam reforming and water-gas shift reactions.
