Bis(pyridyl)siloxane ligands can effectively stabilize Pd complexes against deactivation by metal agglomeration. The stabilizing effect depends sensitively on the ability of the ligand to form a stable, small monomeric ring complex, suggesting steric protection to be the dominant factor.
