Catalytic partial oxidation of methane in presence of steam has been performed over Ni–Ru/Al₂O₃ and Ni–Ru/CeO₂–Al₂O₃ catalysts. Metal dispersion is enhanced when ceria is added to the catalyst. Also, conversion at lower temperatures is increased with ceria addition.
