Novel Pt bimetallic alloys, including Pt3Sc and Pt3Y, have been studied under ultra high vacuum using surface sensitive techniques. Pt overlayers are formed in different ways and the insight from our surface science studies allow us to develop a fuller understanding of the structure-reactivity relationships for these novel catalysts.
