These current studies show that ATR-IR spectroscopy is an efficient tool for in-situ monitoring the interfacial phenomena on catalyst surfaces in the liquid phase. Cinchonidine (CD) and trans-2-methyl-2-pentenoic acid (MPeA) exhibit a specific interaction  on the Pd/Al2O3 surface, which is not determined by either the ratio or the introducing sequence.
