OA28 Hydrogen Sulfide Adsorption and Alkane Oxidation over Doped Ceria: A Combined DFT and Experimental Study

Ceria-based mixed oxides display altered reducibility with respect to pure ceria, which has implications for sulfur adsorption capacity and hydrocarbon oxidation activity.  Catalytic activity of ceria-based mixed oxides for hydrogen sulfide adsorption, hydrocarbon hydrogenolysis/reforming and alkane oxidation is tailored by metal dopants to optimize sulfur adsorption kinetics or surface reducibility.
