The catalytic properties of FexSiBEA in the selective catalytic reduction of NO by ethanol strongly depends on the state of iron. The results show that isolated framework tetrahedral Fe(III) species, evidenced by Diffuse Reflectance UV-vis, XANES and EXAFS, are more active than extra-framework octahedral ones.
