A new general and efficient Rh-based catalyst system has been developed that allows highly regio- and stereoselective synthesis of various (E)-isomer vinyl sulfides from a wide range of thiols and alkynes under mild conditions. These results extend the application of rhodium catalysis for regio- and stereoselective organic synthesis.
