The catalytic sites for PO production and CO oxidation were demonstrated to be different.  The gold cluster size dominates the PO activity while the effect of the residual Na/Cl was shown to be negligible.  High PO rates (160 gPO/h/kgCat at 200°C) can be obtained by properly choosing the preparation conditions.
