We synthesized high {101} facets exposed TiO2 nanorods and low {101} facets exposed TiO2 nanoparticles  and demonstrate the catalytic activity of vanadia on {101} facet is much lower than that on other facets for methanol oxidation. This offers a structure-uniform model catalyst to bridge the experimental and theoretical studies.
